A Safe Festival for Everyone

Helsingborg Pride is a place where everyone should feel welcome, respected, and safe. No matter who you are, who you love, or how you identify, you should be able to visit our festival and feel free to be yourself.

Safety is a fundamental part of everything we do. Before and during the festival, we work closely with the Swedish Police, the City of Helsingborg, security staff when required, and our volunteers to create a safe festival for everyone.

We are proud that Helsingborg Pride has been held for many years without any major incidents. This is the result of long-term safety planning, close cooperation between our partners, and an incredible team of volunteers who help create a safe and welcoming experience every year. Our ambition is to keep it that way.

The Police at Helsingborg Pride

The Swedish Police are an important partner of Helsingborg Pride and are involved throughout the planning of the festival.

During the festival, the Police will be present in Pride Park with a patrol car. Feel free to stop by, ask questions about their work, or learn more about hate crimes and how the Police work to prevent and investigate them. For many children, it’s also a great opportunity to meet police officers and take a closer look at the police vehicle.

The Police also lead the Pride Parade through Helsingborg and are responsible for traffic safety along the parade route. With the help of patrol cars, bicycles, mounted police, and officers on foot, they ensure that the parade can be carried out safely.

CCTV

As part of the Police’s safety measures, Pride Park may be monitored by temporary CCTV before and during the festival. The purpose is to prevent crime, increase public safety, and support police work if needed.

Recorded footage is only used when necessary as part of the Police’s work.

If You Experience a crime

Helsingborg Pride has zero tolerance for threats, harassment, discrimination, or hate crimes.

If you become the victim of a crime or witness a suspected hate crime, we encourage you to report it to the Police by calling 114 14 or by using the Swedish Police’s online reporting services.

Every report helps the Police understand, prevent, and investigate hate crimes more effectively.

In an emergency or life-threatening situation, always call 112.

If you need support, our volunteers will be happy to help you find the appropriate assistance.

Together We Create a Safe Pride

If you notice anything suspicious, something that doesn’t feel right, or someone who appears to need help, don’t hesitate to contact a volunteer, a security steward, or a police officer. It’s always better to raise a concern once too often than once too little.

We believe that a safe festival is created through cooperation, care, and respect for one another. Together, we create a place where everyone can experience joy, community, and the freedom to be themselves.
